Microsoft have revealed the line up for the free games for July given to Gold subscribers and a very mixed bag it is too. Shooters, fighters and puzzlers await gamers this coming month but there’s still time to download June’s if you have not yet bagged them.
First up for the Xbox One in July is Witch Beam’s twin stick shooter Assault Android Cactus. This is a top down shooter that will see players take control of one of nine androids (the titular Cactus being one of those) who work for the Interplanetary Police Department. Our android cop will need to fight through hordes of ogue robots to take back control of the Genki Star. Assault Android Cactus can be played solo, local co-op or online multiplayer for up to 4 players.
From 16th July Xbox One gamers will be able to enjoy Death Squared, a multiplayer puzzler that will have players working together to solve cleverly designed puzzles by getting the robots to the right colours. The game features a campaign that can be completed with up to 2 players and a party mode for up to four.
For the first half of July Xbox 360 gamers will be able to enjoy popular fighting game Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown. From the 16th July it will be time for a bit of Tom Clancy with Ubisoft’s Splinter Cell: Conviction.
