Currently riding high off the sophomore season of small-screen smash Yellowjackets and box-office success of The Boogeyman, Sophie Thatcher is in talks to join sci-fi thriller Companion.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Thatcher, arguably the MVP of Showtime’s hit-series, will headline Companion, which comes from the team behind 2022’s standout horror Barbarian. Also in talks to join the crew are Jack Quaid (The Boys), Lukas Gage (The White Lotus), Megan Suri (Never Have I Ever) and Harvey Guillén (Blue Beetle).
Companion is yet another project being produced by Barbarian writer-director Zach Cregger, who has lined up Pedro Pascal for his next film Weapons.
Described as a self-contained sci-fi-thriller, in which Thatcher is set to play a character who is more than meets the eye, Companion has been written by Drew Hancock (My Dead Ex), who will make his feature debut with the film.
Yellowjackets has just finished its second-season, in which Thatcher plays one of the show’s most complex characters in Natalie, and she can currently be seen delivering an equally nuanced performance in 20th Century Studios’ adaptation of Stephen King story The Boogeyman, which has so far earned almost $40 million at the worldwide box-office.
