Former Scrubs star Zach Braff looks set for a return to the small screen, with Deadline reporting that ABC has placed a put pilot order for the single-camera comedy Start Up, which will see Braff starring and directing.
Written by Scrubs co-executive producer Matt Tarses and based upon the Start Up by Alex Blumberg podcast, Start Up is described as “a show about all the things that happen — the good, the bad and the ugly — when a guy (Braff) in his mid-30s with a wife and two kids makes the crazy decision to quit his good job and dive into the brave new world of starting a business.”
Since the end of Scrubs in 2010, Braff has made a number of guest appearances on television, but has mainly focussed on feature films, including his directorial efforts Wish I Was Here and the upcoming Going in Style.
