Shazam! star Zachary Levi has signed on to appear alongside Jodie Foster (Hotel Artemis), Benedict Cumberbatch (Avengers: Endgame), Shailene Woodley (Big Little Lies) and Tahar Rahim (Mary Magdalene) in the Guantánamo Bay drama Prisoner 760.
Directed by Kevin Macdonald (The Last King of Scotland) and based upon Mohamedou Ould Slahi’s memoir Guantánamo Diary, the legal drama will tell the true story of Slahi, a man who was captured by the U.S. government and held for years without charge or trial. Levi is set to take on the role of a federal agent called Neil Buckland.
Levi was last seen earlier this year in Amazon’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and is attached to reprise the title role in the DC superhero sequel Shazam! 2, which recently received a 2022 release date.
