Amazon’s upcoming animated adaptation of The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkland’s Invincible has just revealed two new voices to the series. Zachary Quinto (Star Trek) and Khary Payton (The Walking Dead) are the latest actors to join the show as announced by Kirkland during the Skybound Xpo virtual panel.
Quinto will play Robot, an ally of superhero Invincible, while Payton will voice Black Samson, a member of the Guardians of the Globe.
Additionally, the panel also announced who the rest of the cast will portray. Zazie Beetz (Deadpool 2) will play Amber Bennett, girlfriend of Mark Grayson/Invincible (Steven Yeun), Andrew Rannells (Girls) will play Mark’s best friend William Clockwell, Walton Goggins (Justified) will be government liaison Cecil Stedman, Mark Hamill (Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker) will be superhero tailor Art, Gillian Jacobs (Community) will portray superhero Atom Eve, Jason Mantzoukas (Big Mouth) as Rex Splode and Seth Rogen (The Lion King) as Allen the Alien.
Invincible follows Mark Grayson (Yeun), a regular teenager whose father just so happens to be the most powerful superhero in the world, Omni-Man (Simmons). Shortly after his 17th birthday, Mark begins to develop powers of his own and enters into his father’s tutelage, only to discover that Omni-Man’s legacy may not be as heroic as it seems.
Simon Racioppa (Teen Titans) is set to serve as showrunner on Invincible, as well as executive producing with Kirkman, David Alpert (The Walking Dead) and Catherine Winder (Star Wars: The Clone Wars) executive producing. The eight-episode series is set to premiere on Amazon in 2020.
