Warning: Minor Suicide Squad spoilers follow. You have been warned…
As well as serving as executive producer on Suicide Squad, it seems that Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice helmer Zack Snyder also directed one key scene from the DC supervillain blockbuster.
Speaking to Collider, David Ayer has revealed that Snyder was responsible for shooting Ezra Miller’s cameo as The Flash, with the Scarlet Speedster popping up to foil a bank robbery by Jai Courtney’s Captain Boomerang. The scene in question was filmed on the set of Justice League, while Suicide Squad was deep in post-production.
“Flash was always in the movie, we just got lucky because Justice League was happening and they had the uniform, they had the assets, so we were able to get that photography,” said Ayer.
Expect Snyder to announce an extended, fifteen-minute cut of the shot to coincide with the film’s Blu-ray release.
