Zack Snyder has taken to social media site Vero to share another tease of his original plans for Justice League and the DC Extended Universe, with the filmmaker posting an image of ancient artwork which depicts the supervillain Darkseid, the tyrannical ruler of Apokolips, along with what looks to be one of the Mother Boxes.

Based on what little we know of Snyder’s original plans, it is thought that Darkseid would have served as the main antagonist in the now-delayed (abandoned?) Justice League Part II, with the villain also potentially making a cameo appearance in the first movie to set up his role in the sequel. Of course, things ultimately didn’t pan out that way, and it remains to be seen if and how Darkseid will come into play in the post-Snyder DCEU.
