While the rest of the world has ground to a halt, Marvel continue to expand their own with lots of superhero goodness dropping on a daily basis. We’ve got WandaVision theories coming out of our ears, Hawkeye and Doctor Strange set-photos, and your weekly dose of Tom Holland hyperbole.
Well now you can add to that the fact we know who Brie Larson will be having a smackdown with in Nia DaCosta’s Captain Marvel sequel, as Deadline is reporting that Fresh Meat and Velvet Buzzsaw’s Zawe Ashton has been cast as the film’s big bad.
Very little is known about the plot of Captain Marvel 2, beyond the fact that it has been written by Megan McDonnell, who has also been contributing towards WandaVision as a story editor, but the report claims that unknown sources have confirmed Ashton will play the as-yet-unrevealed villain.
Best known for her role as Vod in Channel 4’s Fresh Meat, Ashton has gone on to make appearances in Nocturnal Animals, Velvet Buzzsaw, and Greta. She will star alongside the returning Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, Imam Vellani, who is set to play Ms. Marvel, and Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau.
